Do you have limitations on the content of sites held on your servers? Yes, we do. Basically your site must be legal and not incite illegal behaviour. It must not contain any obscene, threatening or hateful material. Pornography, pirated software, nudity or materials related to hacking, or links to such sites, are all examples of unacceptable content. Can I send spam (unsolicited bulk email) from your servers? No, we have a very strict anti-spam policy. For more information, please refer to our Terms and Conditions.
Can I use my account for commercial purposes? Yes, please do. The Internet offers fantastic opportunities to advertise your company and be in touch with your customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. We offer several plans to allow you to tailor your site to your business needs, including our Online Shopper account which offers an e-commerce suite and security access facilities to ensure the integrity of your customers information.We encourage you to take full advantage of the opportunities the Internet has to offer.
Can I get information about who visits my site? Yes. We generate a weekly statistical report about your site's traffic. The report will include information about visitors; pages reviewed;file accesses; referrers; browser types, platforms, hosts and top-level domains used by your visitors and the most common entry and exit pages. These reports are designed to give you plenty of useful details in an easily readable form but, should you want more detail, you can also access the raw log files for your site.
What restrictions apply to your "unlimited traffic" plans? All our hosting plans offer unlimited traffic so that you can have security in the knowledge that you will not be penalised if your site is successful. However, in the interests of all our users, we must place some restrictions on this facility. For this reason, unlimited traffic is not available, for example, on sites which offer files for download, or sites which have a very high proportion of graphics (e.g. image galleries). If your site does not qualify for unlimited traffic, then an excess traffic fee will be charged, but only after you exceed 1 Gigabyte of traffic. What disk usage limits apply to your accounts? Different disk allocations apply depending on the hosting plan you have chosen, but all our accounts include a generous amount of disk space. If you find you need more disk space you can upgrade your plan or, if you already have our Online Shopper account, purchase additional disk space in 50MB blocks.
